  • Jurmala will be represented on two stands at "Tourest 2012"

    Jurmala Resort City will be presented on 2 stands at the International Travel fair „Tourest 2012” taking place in Tallinn on February 17 – 19. At the stand of Latvia the visitors of the fair will be able to meet representatives of Jurmala City Tourism information centre and get a new tourism guide in Estonian language, while at the stand „SPA treatment in Latvia. Jurmala” an information about resort treatment, SPA and rehabilitation, as well as special offers will be provided.

    Riga Deputy Mayor Andris Ameriks told LETA today that he expects at least 1.5 million tourists in the city this year, mentioning that if the port welcomed 70 cruise ships last year, then 90 are awaited this year. Many more people are now arriving by bus, he also pointed out.

    Latvian national airline airBaltic carried 201,923 passengers in November 2011 (from Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn), or almost as much as the same month in 2010, when airBaltic transported 201,873 passengers. In November this year, the number of passengers at the base of airBaltic in Riga has increased by 3% compared to the same period last year.
