The main idea of the project is to popularize the new and less known Baltic tourism products, advance the development of Latvian tourism opportunities and to motivate the society, and namely, families, companies of friends and work collectives to visit the most interesting Baltic tourism objects.
The campaign includes advertising of new and successful tourism products, and LTDA creates the bond between the potential traveller and tourism objects through this project with supporting the development of the local tourism.
Brochures have been elaborated especially for the project to assist in finding more detailed information about the offer of objects involved in the campaign and the conditions of the project.
The Great Baltic Travel 2011 will take place from May 5th to September 15th, when every resident of Baltic States can participate in the competition for prizes, which will be awarded to the most active participants of the campaign at the end of the year.
This year tourists are invited in Latvia to visit the Black Alder Nature Path in Kemeri National Park, the Bauska Branch of Rīga Motor museum, Naval Port Prison of Liepaja, "Laumas" Nature Park, passenger train Gulbene – Alūksne (bānītis), Mini zoo „Dobuļi”, Gunārs Igaunis Museum of Music Instruments, Vijciems Cone Drier, Cēsis Castle and Kingdom of Dolls in Preiļi.
